In Short, This Vendor WasThe American Club is a gorgeous, old-school, midwest setting. Think dark wood, plaids, fireplaces, etc. We did our rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, ceremony/reception, and farewell brunch all at different venues within Destination Kohler. There were a few instances where we had communication issues, so I'd recommend staying on top of all the details (and confirming and re-confirming), but had a great experience overall.
To Elaborate When you sign the wedding contract, you are assigned a point person for your wedding weekend to coordinate all the logistics. I'd try to make sure you get someone more senior for this role. They wanted to give us a woman who had worked there less than a year and who had never been to one of their most popular venues (The Irish Barn at Whistling Straits). We also had some issues with our room blocks -- guests got varying answers on availability depending on who picked up the phone. But nothing too disastrous and they worked to rectify the kinks.
If you get married here, you have to use their catering and floral (I think you can actually bring outside floral, but there's a large fee). This is not an issue AT ALL. The food was a highlight and the florist really knocked it out of the park. The pastry chef recently joined from the Ritz-Carlton and our cake was killer. The florist made sure the resort's floral arrangements matched my wedding's color scheme so everything would look cohesive. She really did a beautiful job.
