Christine Driscoll was a gorgeous spring bride who got married at one of the Cape's most stunning venues: Wequassett Resort and Golf Club. It is so easy to lose your head a little bit in the wedding planning process but this is a bride who knew exactly what her priorities were and kept the important things crystal clear -- even eschewing the formal rehearsal dinner for a really fun cocktail party. Love.
Bridal style Classic, Cape Cod
Dress From I bought my dress at Vows Bridal Outlet in Watertown, MA. I went in with an open mind regarding the style because I heard so many times from friends that they bought something that they didn't originally think they were going to like. So I tried on many different styles and fabrics until I found my dress. I went with my mom and one of my sisters and after trying a few different dresses on, my mom described a style that she thought was flattering on me and the woman helping us went back and found it! The dress originally came with cap sleeves which I had removed when I went to get it altered but the high boat neck and low V back made me feel classic and feminine. I absolutely loved it and did not want to take it off.
Shoes by Badgley Mischka flats because I am way more comfrotable in flats! I also wore them to my shower to break them in a little bit.
Accessories by My dress came with a beautiful belt so I wanted to keep my accessories to a minimum. The only other thing I wore were pearl earrings
Health Secrets We got married at the end of April so January was when we really started to buckle down. We took the month of January off from drinking alcohol which really helped us get on track for eating healthy and getting into a good fitness routine. It felt good to have a month off, especially after the holiday season! I mixed up my weekly workouts with running, tabata, and boxing. Matt and I also worked out together on the weekends which made it more enjoyable.
Beauty Secrets Monthly facials starting in January really helped to get my skin feeling great.
Hair & Makeup by I used Lisa George for hair and makeup for me and all my bridesmaids. She has a whole team and they came to the house where we were getting ready and were so great. I would definitely recommend her.
Greatest Moments of the night There are so many great memories from our wedding day! Getting ready with the girls was really fun. I did a first look with my dad which was when I started to get emotional, and walking down the aisle at the church was so special. Matt was most nervous about our first dance so we took a few classes and once the dance was over, all the nerves went away and we were ready to celebrate. Right after our first dance, we did all the speeches and that was probably one of the highlights of the night. My dad had called out each group of friends for both Matt and myself and asked them to stand so at the end of his speech, everyone in the room was standing and I looked around the room and felt so incredibly happy.
Advice for brides to be Prioritize what is important to you and your fiance. For us, we wanted a great band, delicious food, and good pictures, and making those choices together was really special. Also, instead of a standard rehearsal dinner, we had a cocktail reception catered by Chef Roland with lots of heavy passed apps which was so much fun. We were able to mingle with everyone and it was such a relaxed atmosphere so I would definitely recommend that idea to people who don't love the traditional rehearsal sit-down dinner.
